The 5th Annual Charity Break-A-Thon will be held on Saturday, February 22 at Min's Karate Academy in Camp Hill . This event benefits Shalom House as well as other very worthy non-profit organizations. Shalom House joined members of Zonta at the State Capitol for their "Zonta Says No" Rally" to raise awareness of and increase actions to end violence against women and girls around the world. The campaign, which began in November 2012 and will continue through December 2013, features the service and advocacy actions of Zonta clubs and districts to prevent and end violence against women and girls in their local communities.

Crafters from the mid-state have been working hard to make holiday wreaths in preparation for the fourth annual Shalom House �Wreaths for a Reason.� The event will feature homemade holiday wreaths, prominently displayed at Strawberry Square through the generous support of Harristown Development Corporation. Visitors place in a silent auction or purchase their wreath at a �buy-it-now� price.
The 2013 auction and sale will be held on November 12, 13 and 14 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. For more information, click on this link to the Penn Live article regarding the event or the link below to the event press release.

On Saturday, August 3, Shalom House partnered with the King Center and other service providers, businesses, and community partners at the 2013 Health Fair. The event featured our own Loida Bigio and her family, serving Spanish cuisine.

On Saturday, May 18 over 40 people joined together to raise more than $3,500 (and counting) for Shalom House at the 2013 Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community Harrisburg.
A special thank you to our community partner Kohl's for their continued support of Shalom House at this event.
As you can see from the pictures, there may have been clouds in the sky, but our team spirit was shining!

Come walk with Shalom House in the 2013 Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community Harrisburg on Saturday, May 18 at the Harrisburg Area Community College.
Onsite Registration and Check-In begin at 7:45 a.m.
The 5K walk will start at 9:00 a.m.
The 1 Mile Fun Walk will start at 9:15 a.m.
Participants can look forward to:
�A beautiful day! The walk will be held rain or shine.
�A walkway accessible for strollers and wheelchairs.
�Food, beverages, music, activities, and prize drawings immediately following the conclusion of the walk.
�A chance to win one of our great prizes valued at over $1000 collectively. For every $50 that you donate or raise in support of a participating organization, you will receive one raffle ticket. �Receiving a Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community t-shirt if you donate or raise $25 or more for a participating organization (while supplies last).

Come join us for Shalom House's Annual Theater Event on Saturday, February 9.
This year's show is The Drowsey Chaperone: A musical comedy superstar� a forgetful (but adorable) matron� a tap-dancing leading man� and a tipsy (drowsy) chaperone head up this critically acclaimed musical-comedy that pays tribute to the Jazz-age shows of the 1920s. It all begins when a die-hard musical-theater fan plays his favorite cast album on his turntable, and the musical literally bursts to life in his living room, telling the rambunctious tale of a brazen Broadway starlet trying to find, and keep, her true love. Complete with thrills and surprises, dancing and tons of laughs!
